My current car is a 2001 Honda civic but the transmission is messed up. It will cost me around $1,500 to fix which would end up being a major waste of money since the car will more than likely break down again soon. I am about to go to college and will need to have a reliable form of transportation since the area I live in is basically a random suburb which has no means of public transport. I looked at cars on craiglists but so far every one I have talked to (around 15 as of now) has ended up being a fraud in some sort. Thus, I'd like to take out an auto loan to get a more recent car (2006 would be good). However, I am about to turn 18 and I don't know the chances of me being able to talk a loan out. And Also, I want to know if there are auto loans specifically for young drivers. EXTRA DETAILS First off, I have been working since I was 13 and while I do have money saved it is for my college, future rent etc. Secondly, no my parents can not help. Obviously, if I have been working since such a young age then my parents aren't exactly in the best financial shape. Third, don't give me any welcome to the real world BS. I financially support myself and have done so for a long time. I have been part of the real world for a long time even if I'm just being legally recognized as an adult. I was involved in an accident in 2011. I was going straight past an intersection and another truck going the opposite direction turned at the intersection, striking me. He admitted he did not see me and was clearly at fault. I filled out the police report and it states, by both parties, that he was at fault. A year later I bought a new car. I tried to get insurance. Everywhere I go my quotes are sky high, like almost $200 a month. I asked them why so much, and they advised I was listed at fault in the accident. The insurance companies keep saying they are getting this info from the DMV but thats not possible. I was told by one small insurance company that this is a tactic used by companies. They see me as not at fault but try to manipulate me to get more money. What do I do to clear my name? I have the official police report, as well as all my medical bills from the accident. Again, the DMV cannot see any at fault, therefore cannot do or change anything.

I've read the policy, forms, etc... Prior I was hired. The company that I work with gas this insurance benifits. I have already reach my 90 days and 3 weeks period. The company is not offering me with medical insurance. Not even an evaluation. But that doesn't matter. My question is, is it illegal in the state of California if the company does not offer/ask you an option to have insurance or not? Please advice.

Insurance on my own car compared to my parents?

Hey all, Im interested in buying a car and my parents are quite objectionable to it. Id say i would pay for the car and the difference in insurance but they say i dont have the money to do so. I know that my being insured on one of their cars costs a lot less than being insured on my own car but i really dont know the difference. Obviously it depends on the type of car and other factors but approximately how much is the difference. I could fill out the quote stuff but i would have to fill it out twice and i really dont feel like being bombarded by emails and what not. Also, I am 17 years old and have had my license for over a year without a single violation. If it really matters, i have about 4500 saved up for now. I made a little over 1100 in the past month and should be getting about 700 or so a month from my job. I really dont spend any money on anything else. Is insurance on my own car really that expensive?
